A Typical Night at Toastmasters
To find out more about joining Burnham Speakers:
What happens at a meeting?
Meetings follow a structure of: impromptu speaking practice (Table Topics), prepared speeches and speech evaluations. Meetings are organised with an agenda and rotational meeting roles including a timekeeper, grammarian, Table Topics master, speech evaluators and the Toastmaster of the Evening. There is a break part way through, a chance to meet and talk with members.
Occasionally there may be special event, such as a contest or a special educational session. If there is a fifth Tuesday in a month, we always put on a fun event or invite a special speaker (such as past speakers at the global Toastmasters International Speech Contest!).
